The Kingsville Wars - Rio 7 and the Mexican Oracle
WHILE OUR HEROES RUN THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD IN KINGSVILLE, SOMEWHERE ELSE ANOTHER RIPPLE IN EXISTENCE HAS HAPPENED.
WE'RE BACK TO THE COLLEGE AREA OF TOWN.
J - ugh, my head. Why did I come here again? (DELETED)? Where is she?
The figure looks around and notices he had been drinking a beer. Around the room are people drinking, talking. Some even play pool, others darts.
"Need anything else hon?" asked the bartender.
J - No, I was...
A sharp pain hit J near his eyebrows.
J - ...leaving.
J stood up from his bar stool and started to walk towards the exit. When he moved from the chair, a small wristband caught on the back of the stool, J tugged unknowingly and ripped it off thinking it was his shirt. The wristband fell to the ground with the word Engine on it. J kept walking and pushed on the door to the outside. As the exit door flung open he was immediately blinded by the scorching south Texas sun. As his eyes turned from a sharp squint to a normal look, he turned around to see the sign of the bar.
J - The Country Luau?
BACK TO OUR HEROS? NEED A RECAP? NO?!

R - At this pace we're not going to out run it, my legs are not giving helping out anymore.
F - The heals (panting) only work for wounds and other minor issues, I cant cure ya'lls exhaustion.
Fredo looked down to his pocket to notice his phone ringing and cutting off. But theres was no time to pick it up, whoever couldn't get a hold of Carlos was now calling Fredo, the Rennie, then Neto, then Checo. Practically everyone had been receiving calls but no one seemed to notice much.
C - We're gonna have to kick its ass...
Carlos turned around.
C- Theres about 4 little ones and the big guy.

Rennie turned to face the smaller ones.
R - Checo hold the big guy?
O - Yeah!
Rennie started using his remaining power to enhance his speed if for one last hurrah. He faced the first Leongo and smacked him hard in the face, pulled his branch back and followed by a piercing motion to its stomach. When he did that move, the mesquite branch lit with fire and he pierced through the Leongo. Stunned by his effort, the other Leongos surrounded him but were unable to do anything, which allowed Rennie to hold the sword with both hands and sweep them, causing their bodies to be split.
O- Carlos!
C - Hold him a little bit more.
Carlos was looking for something, anything.
C - There!
He grabbed a large block from the front of one of the houses. Looking at the hulking Leongo, Carlos began to spin with the block in one hand. After five turns, he threw the brick and hit the boss in the gut. When the brick flew, it was engulfed in a blue hue which speed up the longer it was in the air. When the beast fell to its knees Checo grabbed its neck and pulled it down with all his weight, Carlos ran to aid them. Neto was fidgeting in his pockets and found a knife.
N - I think this might work, but I don't know, fuck it...
He waved his hand over the knife. It turned purple.
N - Yesssss
Running to the Leongo he threw the pocket knife to the head. Once it connected the Leongos head started to develop boils and pustules which kept getting bigger. It deformed him so drastically that Checo and Carlos had to let go of the boss.
F - Damn...
R - Shit dude...
As the boils and pustules popped, they were draining a thick purple steaming liquid. It fell.
N - I don't want to say good job til we get the fuck out of here and into a building or something.
O - I see the movie theater over there, I'd say about 2-3 blocks.
C - Lets go.
Silence.
Dead silence.
The guys walked to the theater exhausted, hungry and thirsty. As the drew nearer Checos phone went off, but no caller ID, nothing but static and barely a voice. He had 934 missed calls, but he didn't tell anyone. He assumed that based on the current series of events, a broken phone was the least of his worries.
As their walk was drawing them closer Carlos broke the silence.
C - I have 1921 missed calls.
His iphone 10 didn't lie. Everyone started to look at theirs.
R - I have over 2000,.
N - Same as Carlos.
Fredo had over 2500 and one voice mail. But how? The phone had no service, no one had BFS signal here.
O - I seem to have some too.
F - I have a vociemail, but it wont play, like its stuck downloading.

F - No signal. When did we get all those calls? Mine has gone of probably about four times since we've been together.

The guys were less than a quarter mile away from the theater now.

They all nodded and continued the trek to the theater. It was past 3 PM now.
No one knew how they got there. but they did.
No one knew why they had power. But they did.
No one knew that they were fully on the year 2004. But they were.
They went in and tried to buy food, but none of their cards worked. No cash either.
O - I had cash earlier...
Checo sat on the floor of the shopping centre. He box office was in front of him; people were coming in and out of the place.

C - We could eat there, just drink water from the fountain there.
N - At least no one followed us here, but I'm pretty sure the Leongos will come looking for us here, so we best find out somewhere to hide.
F - I'm going to get some water.
Fredo stood up and went to drink water. After he was done he looked at his phone. The missing call was Cindy. He pressed play:
"Fredo. Its been 20 years since you went missing, but I kept your phone in case you ever called back. I miss you so much... I really hope that you and the rest are found one day so we can put you to rest... I hate that we never got to grow old together. Every day takes longer than the last and its making me feel stretched and thin. I love you and want you to come back, to me, to our kids. If Rennie is there tell him he's made you late by a lot of years. Come back home."

Rennie had made his way to drink water as well.
