OK if you can remove the staples from your balls....go watch THIS movie
Damn You, Carlos! I watched a movie this weekend and I've been trying figure out how to review it on the blog. And then you go and review a movie so now I almost don't feel like doing it right after yours. But I have to. This is a Spanish film and if you DO have the opportunity to see it its probable that you won't have it for long.
This movie is playing in a lot of places. Its playing in Brownsville and Corpus so its probable that those that don't live in Austin can still see it, though its not in Kingsville but then again what is (actually Kingsville cheered me up recently cause Juno is here for some reason).
Okay so this great movie that you HAVE to go see unless you get scare easily is The Orphanage (or for our Spanish speaking friend El Orfanato).
So the reason I had trouble writing this review is that I don't know how to tell you how scary this movie is without spoiling the best moments for you. So I won't. So all I will say is the following:
THE ORPAHANGE IS ONE OF THE SCARIEST FUCKING MOVIES EVER MADE! THIS MOVIE GAVE ME THE CREEPS AND MADE ME WANT TO LEAVE THE THEATRE BECAUSE I COULD NOT TAKE THE CREEPY FEELING ANYMORE! GO WATCH IT NOW!
Okay there. One more thing I do have to say is that while this movie is scary it is not like Hostel or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There is no torture. There are only a few deaths. And most of those deaths serve the story and are tragic rather than funny.

By The Way, while I was happy that Kingsville graced me with the chance to see Juno, a movie I NEVER thought would be in Kingsville, I didn't really like it all that much.
I mean I liked it. I thought it was funny. I loved Jason Bateman and am in love with Jennifer Garner. I thought Ellen Page was cool. But it all felt done before.
If you don't know what I mean, watch Rushmore, Garden State, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Napoleon Dynamite. It felt like everything it did was taken from some of those movies. And especially in the Wes Anderson films' case not necessarily more successfully.
I really really really want to see this movie, but the timing sucks. Because there are so many other movies I have to see as well. There will be blood, Rambo, a bunch of other things.
Man I wish I wasn't po'
Adding to ToDO List NOW!!!
Juno was good but I don't know what everyone was wetting their pants about. The dialogue for the character of Juno felt like it had been written by a 60 year old who based her language on reading their 15 year old grand daughters myspace page. She felt incredibly forced and halfway through the movie I couldn't stand her. Thankfully the supporting cast were amazing, especially Allison Janney.
Now for The Orphanage. Scary Neto? You woman. Okay, so there were a couple of things that made me jump (like the old lady, holy shit that made me pee a little) but overall I was expecting a lot more. As for originality, almost every element of the story I have seen before so most scenes became predictable. The terror I came for was to few and far between for me to be entertained from beginning to end. All in all I wish I had gone to see Rambo instead.
