Today In Extremely Un-Ironic News...

Willie Nelson was busted for pot and mushrooms today and this is the definition of whatever the opposite of irony is. I mean I read this and I was like "Well fucking duh...That was some great police work officer. What tipped you off? Was it his Wikipedia article? His albums? Maybe it was the fact that everyone in the world even the conservative side of his audience knows that he smokes pot? In case you didn't get the proverbial memo, NOBODY FUCKING CARES!!!! "

Now the truth is he will probably get off light because he is a pretty big star. And that's great for him. I don't think anyone wants to see Willie Nelson in jail. Then again nobody really wanted to see Tommy Chong in jail but they threw the book at him anyway. But if he does get off light, what does that say about the drug laws in our country? I mean if we don't really care that Willie Nelson or Tommy Chong get caught with drugs because they sing pretty or are funny then why do we care when anyone gets caught in possession of a couple of joints or a dime or nickel bag. Most people who use marijuana are harmless and some can sing pretty and most are funny too (especially when those listening are high as well). So maybe its time to rethink the drug laws in our country (at least the ones about pot.) Let our entertainers do whatever they need to do to be funny or sing pretty and let my people go!
