"We were raised by the same television"

It was the summer of my freshman year in college, Oscar Ernesto Regalado Jr. had found a job in Convergys and become friends with a few girls. Rennie had also become friends with these girls, and one girl once needed a ride, so I gave her one. The other girl was talking about how nice I was for doing that and neto quickly responds with "yeah, we were raised by the same television". Something so funny, yet so insightful, I think that was the first time I ever heard a zen comment. I believe it was true, we did watch a lot of television. We were raised by "the liberal media". Hell, want in on a little secret? I learned not to trust television from a G.I. Joes episode.
What I'm trying to say is that Neto is a very smart man, a good man, a great man, a person wise beyond his years. A person who has had to say goodbye to so many people more than anyone should. He has taken it well, and all he does is raise his head up, put his feet back up, and keeps going. Where as we suffer through our petty little worries, all he does is just not let it get to him and looks forward to the future. He will go to hell and back for a friend and those he loves, always there to help us and put us first, to listen to us, and to give us advice.
Me, as his brother, have seen all he has gone through in a more personal way. As Carlos said, he is someone who looked after me, as I looked after him. But him being older, throughout my whole life, I know he looked after me more. Sure we had a brotherly disputes, and there was the little brother jealousy that every younger sibling has. But he was there anytime I needed him, he was there to give me a hand.
So I end this post with a promise to my brother, to tell him, that whenever he needs my help, anytime, no matter where I am, to not hesitate to ask me. If I can't help him, I'll find someone who will.

Sincerely,
Renato de Jesus Regalado
