A Plea From A Former RA...
I just read THIS story. Apparently, after the school shootings in Virgina Tech and elsewhere, students have been signing petitions asking to be allowed to take their guns on campus and some states are considering it, including Texas (of course).
Here is all I can say...
Dear Texas Senate,
As a guy whose job it used to be to repeatedly tell drunken idiots, who lived on campus, to turn down their music (as an RA getting paid minimum wage, not a trained police officer), I think I can speak for RAs and say, "Please do not let these drunken idiots have guns! ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY!?! Do you realize that the number one cause of death for college age students is alcohol related motor vehicle accidents? You want to add weaponry to the mix?"

Neto, I have to agree with you here, its retarded to give guns to "hormone sexed crazed drunken idiots" (QFT from Sacrilege).
Shit lets give an example from the days Checo, Carlos, Rennie and I were in Kingsville. I remember that there was a horrible tension from the ag guys and the black students. On nights I saw fights break out due to alcohol and hatred put into the same equation. And like you said Neto, adding the guns will now make this equation exponentially grow to levels of stupidity I never thought possible.
Alcohol, hatred and angst while in school will only provoke more shootings like the one in Virginia Tech.

I agree that guns should definitely NOT be allowed in dorms. That's an insane thought.
I'd like to add, though, that no RA is safe in the dorms in Kingsville. Every white guy with a cowboy hat, wranglers, and a truck has about 5 shotguns either lying in the bed of his truck or underneath his pillow in the dorm room. You could film a modern day western in Kville and not have to order in any artillery. I won't even mention the knives these country c*nts use to skin their fish and cut out their deer hearts with (sorry for the alliteration there, i couldn't help it).
I doubt there's enough inspection in any college dorms for dangerous weapons, but at least our dorm rooms are free of any dangerous microwaves and coffee pots!
