The Best of 2007!
In Music: (note: Sadly, I haven't listed to very many new albums, and there's some I really want to listen to, like Say Anything's and Thursday's and Thrice's and Wilco's, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Therefore, my list is really only the best of what I have heard. I'll try to keep in touch a little more next year. Let's make it my new years resolution!)

I know that last one isn't music but those three are the only music I have heard so far this year that I continually listen to. I still have yet to hear the new Say Anything album and I just found out about the new Cafe Tacuba album so those might get up there. And if I were honest, if I could only choose one of those three to take on a deserted island with me it would be between In Rainbows and Patton Oswalt. So There.
By the way, the best artist I just heard about this year even though their newest album was released last year is definitely The Thermals. I first heard their album The Body The Blood The Machine in January and I am still listening to it.

Against Me!- New Wave

I'm gonna have to start and admit that Against Me!'s New Wave belongs here.
Even though they moved to major, even though, this album was produced by Butch Vig and came out sounding almost nothing like an actual AM! album. New Wave is a solid Hook filled rock album. And while it can't avoid sounding hypocritical to us who followed them since they came out with Axl (noone liked them "in the beginning" anyone who says they did is a liar), this album still comes out sounding pretty damn soulful...after a few listens.
Before flight of the conchords came out with their own show. I started listening to their music via Youtube. Already they were advertising for the show yet I was laughing my head off at their performances on stage. When the show began, I am still laughing, if I catch a rerun, I watch it religiously, I cannot get enough of this duo from New Zealand.
Even though their music is comedic and quixotic, you can tell that they are skilled in their senseless craft.
Also, i'm very proud of the fact that I discovered Battles, their music is something completely different and almost amazing to an extent.
